Mary - Instructor
Mary has loved dance all her life. She began dancing at the DeParis Ballet School as a child, where she studied ballet, pointe, lyrical, contemporary and Flamenco dancing. Mary continued to dance in college, where she graduated from University of South Florida with a degree in Mass Communications and Dance. Over the years, Mary performed numerous classical and contemporary ballet pieces as a soloist and in pas de duex roles.
Together with lifelong friend Roni Wright, Mary co-owned and operated the Florida Ballet School and served as Artistic Director of the school’s non-profit performing company, the Florida Gulf Coast Ballet Company. In these roles, Mary taught all levels of ballet, pointe and lyrical classes to various age groups. She additionally directed the company’s performances, organized fundraising & marketing and oversaw the student scholarship program.
After 15 years of studio ownership, Mary sold the Florida Ballet School to dedicate herself to being a mom to her two children, Ryan and Olivia. She now loves every minute of being a dance mom to Olivia, who proudly dances on the Fusion Dance Competition Team.
Mary is thrilled to share her passion for dance by teaching ballet classes and at Fusion Dance Company. Her classes focus on teaching students of all ages proper technique and helping each dancer reach their full potential by building strength, balance, alignment and flexibility.
